Yesterday our firm had the privilege of hosting the Virginia Legal Aid Society 2019 CLE in Lynchburg Virginia.  Three presenters offered insights and practical tips for practitioners in the area of Social Security Disability Law, Guardian and Conservatorships and Ethics.  Here was the line-up:

  • B. Patrick Agnew presented the "Nuts & Bolts of Social Security Law & Cessation Cases".  Among the topics discussed were the 5 step sequential process, listings of impairments and the appeal process for disability claims.
  • Wanda Yoder presented insights and practical tips about guardianship and conservatorship proceedings and filings.
  • Jim Mcauley with the Virginia State Bar presented on "unbundling" legal services, the challenges with this rising trend and practical tips for the practitioner.

We are thankful to have participated in the event and look forward to working with the Virginia Legal Aid Society and the Lynchburg Bar Association to improve access and quality of legal services in Lynchburg and Central Virginia.
